SendOutCards Picture Plus to the Rescue
As the cliche goes, "the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry." But sometimes when they do, you end up better off.
My wife and I started planning our Christmas cards a couple of months before Christmas. We took a number of photos of our daughter hoping to capture that perfect shot for our Christmas cards. My wife even did a shoot with our family photographer.
Of course when the time came to plan out our family Christmas card, none of the photos were just what we wanted, either too old, wrong holiday, out of focus, etc., etc.
My wife came up with the brilliant idea of adding a caption from one of the photo shoots gone wrong.
But first, let me give you the background of the shot ...
It was a beautiful evening after a recent snow. Everyone had their Christmas lights on. My wife hurried home from work with our daughter. It was a Wednesday night, the night she has her MBA class. Megan has to get home with Meredith, quickly nurse her, grab a quick bite and then dash off to class.
My mother in law and I grab the camera and take Meredith out front to try to snap a couple of photos. Of course, Meredith knew it was dinner time and was ready to eat. Hence, our model was not in a cooperative mood and all of the photos showed it. All we ended up with were photos of our daughter screaming in front of some Christmas lights.
Now fast forward to my wife and I going through all of our photos trying to come up with a concept for our Christmas card.
After looking through all of them, we can't find a single "good" photo that would be perfect for our Christmas card.
After a bit my wife looks at one of the photos where our daughter had the perfect pouty lips and says, "Well we could use Picture Plus and add a speech bubble that says, 'Dear Santa, mom and dad didn't get me what I wanted for Christmas!'."
Here was the result ...
